Two More Children Die with Measles Symptoms Across the Country

Dhaka: Two more children have died with symptoms of measles in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 948 since March 15.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that the number of deaths from both confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms has reached 1,048 since March 15. In the most recent 24-hour period, there were 1,245 new suspected cases of measles, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 177,725 between March 15 and September 18.

In the past 24 hours, 52 cases of confirmed measles were reported, increasing the total to 20,395 confirmed cases. Since the outbreak began, 156,718 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals, with 150,633 of these patients having recovered and been discharged.

There have been no new deaths from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours. However, since March 15, there have been 100 deaths from confirmed measles.
