Dinajpur: Two people were killed and seven others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and an easy bike on the Dinajpur-Rangpur highway in Chirirbandar upazila of the district this morning. The accident took place near the Trillion Gold Limited (EPZ) area of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Morsheda Begum, 35, wife of Jahangir Alam from Saidpur Kajikal area in Nilphamari district, and Aduri Roy, 18, daughter of Subash Chandra Roy from Dighaldangi village in Nilphamari Sadar upazila. The collision occurred around 7:30 am when a bus collided head-on with an easy bike, resulting in the immediate death of two easy bike passengers and injuries to seven others.
Inspector Md. Mahabul Karim, Officer-in-Charge of Dashmile Highway Police Station, reported that the injured were admitted to Syedpur Upazila Health Complex for treatment. All the deceased and injured were employees of Trillion Gold Limited (EPZ) and were on their way to work when the accident occurred.
