Two Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Sherpur

Sherpur: Two persons were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Sadar and Nakla upazilas of the district last night. The deceased were identified as Ahsan, 55, and Mohiron Begum, 54.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ahsan, a resident of Kumari area under Bajitkhila union in Sadar upazila, was killed on the spot when a passenger bus collided with a battery-run easy bike around 11 pm in the Kumari Battoli area. The crash also resulted in injuries to four individuals. Among them, the easy bike driver, Mamun, 25, was transported to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, while the remaining injured parties were taken to a local hospital for treatment.



The second accident occurred earlier in the evening, around 8 pm, on the Dhaka-Sherpur highway in Nakla upazila. Mohiron Begum, a resident of Dakshin Ramerkandi village under Talki union, was fatally struck by a bus as she was returning home after attending a wedding in the Badagoir area. She was pronounced dead at the scene.



Additional Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the incidents, underscoring the tragic consequences of the accidents that took place in the district.
