Noakhali: Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Begumganj upazila of the district today. The deceased were identified as Nurjahan Begum, 45, from Chowmuhani municipality area, and Ayrin, daughter of Babul, a resident of Krishnarampur village in Begumganj upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sub-Inspector Krishna Kumar Das of Begumganj Thana reported that Nurjahan Begum was fatally struck by a truck while crossing a road in the rail gate area under Chowmuhani this afternoon. Following the accident, she was transported to Begumganj Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctors pronounced her dead.
In a separate incident, Ayrin sustained severe injuries when a bus collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in front of Kalikapur High School at noon. She was immediately taken to Noakhali Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared her dead. Her sister was also injured in the incident, as confirmed by Officer-in-Charge Ruhul Amin of Charganj Highway Thana.
