Gazipur: Two people were killed in a road accident in the Pubail area of the city this morning. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred near Nimtoli Bridge on the Tongi-Ghorashal-Sylhet regional highway. A covered van collided with a battery-run auto rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, resulting in the immediate death of two rickshaw passengers.
Amirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Pubail Police Station, stated that police have recovered the bodies. The bodies have been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
