Trishal: Two unidentified passengers were killed and at least 10 others injured when a speeding bus rammed into several vehicles on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway near Bailor Kazi Shimla Nazrul High School in Trishal upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic incident involved a Mymensingh-bound passenger bus from United Paribahan. The bus reached the location and collided from behind with two three-wheelers parked by the roadside and a Mymensingh-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw. The impact of the collision led to the bus crashing through the boundary wall of a nearby Ideal High School before overturning.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Trishal Police Station, Md Mansur Ahmed, confirmed the incident. Among the injured are one CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, two Mahindra drivers, four CNG passengers, and two Mahindra passengers. The identities of the deceased and injured passengers and drivers, as well as the absconding driver, have not yet been confirmed.
Md Mansur Ahmed further detailed that the bus driver immediately fled the scene following the crash. Legal proceedings in connection with the incident are currently underway.
