Two Fertilizer Traders Fined for Overpricing and License Violations in Sherpur

Sherpur: A mobile court in a drive fined two fertilizer traders Taka 1 lakh 20 thousand for selling fertilizer at higher prices than the government's fixed rates and selling without a license. The mobile court of Sadar upazila administration conducted a drive in Akher Mahmud Bazar area around 1 pm and fined Meem Enterprise Taka 1 lakh for selling fertilizer above the government-fixed price at Akher Mahmud Bazar in Sadar upazila, and Shishir Enterprise Taka 20,000 for selling fertilizer without a license.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud Bhuiyan led the mobile court. Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Muslima Khanam Nilu and Extension Officer Md. Anwar Hossain, along with Ansar members, were present at the time.

Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Muslima Khanam Nilu stated that the Agriculture Department is actively working in the field to dismantle the fertilizer syndicate as part of its regular activities. The drive is being conducted to protect the interests of farmers in this regard.
