Two Fatal Road Accidents Claim Lives in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj: Two persons lost their lives in separate road accidents in the Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district. The incidents occurred on Sunday, causing distress among the local community.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the first accident involved a motorcyclist, identified as Rubel Mia, aged 25, from Shalonka Village under Narinda Union in Pakundia Upazila. He was killed instantly when his motorcycle collided with an oil tanker near Maijhati Babar Ali Market on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab Highway at 7 pm.



In a separate incident, an unidentified elderly man, approximately 60 years old, was critically injured when a truck struck the CNG-run auto-rickshaw he was traveling in. The collision happened near Maijhati Madinatul Ulum Madrasha on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab Highway at 5 pm. He was transported to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.



Officer-in-Charge of Katiadi Highway Thana, Abdul Kader Jilani, confirmed the incidents to BSS. He stated that the bodies have been kept at Shahid Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital pending further procedures.
