Two Establishments Fined Tk 1 Lakh in Boalkhali for Unlicensed Food Production

Boalkhali: The upazila administration fined two commercial entities Taka 1 lakh in Boalkhali upazila for manufacturing and selling food products without obtaining the required licence from the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drive was conducted today by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mehedi Hasan Faruk and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kaniz Fatema. The establishments, ‘Shah Majidiya Bakery’ and ‘Fatema Sweets’, were penalized under the BSTI Act, 2018. They were found producing and selling expired and unhygienic food products and operating without a BSTI licence.



The UNO stated that such enforcement drives would continue to ensure food safety and protect consumers’ health.
