Two Children Drown in Pond in Brahmanpara, Cumilla

Brahmanpara:Two children tragically drowned in a pond in the Brahmanpara upazila of Cumilla on Saturday.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the victims were identified as Mo Hasibul, 8, and Mo Junaid, 11. Hasibul was the son of Md Kawsar from Icha Muddir village in the Gopalnagar area. Junaid, originally from Ramnagar, was living at his aunt's house in Gopalnagar and was a Class IV student at Gopalnagar Uttarpara Government Primary School.

Local residents reported that the children fell into a pond near a house around 1230 p.m. They were subsequently rescued and transported to Brahmanpara Upazila Health Complex, where medical personnel confirmed they had died before reaching the facility.

Dr. Redwan Ahmed Himel, a medical officer at the health complex, stated that the necessary formalities were completed before the bodies were returned to the grieving families. The incident has left a deep sense of sorrow among the families, neighbors, and the local community.
