Narail: Two children drowned in a pond at Uttar Khashial village under Kalia upazila of the district on Saturday evening. The deceased were identified as Shakib Sheikh, 5, son of Zakat Sheikh of the same village, and his cousin Manik Islam, 4, son of Ariful Islam from Barishal district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the children were playing beside the pond near their house when they suddenly fell into the water and drowned. The incident was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naragati Police Station, Md. Ashiqur Rahman.
