Brahmanbaria: Two children drowned in a pond at the Kuttapara North area under Sarail upazila here at noon today. The deceased were identified as Md Takrim, 3, son of Akter Hossain of Kuttapara North, and Md Adnan, 5, son of Arafat Mia of Uchaliapara village under the same upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, witnesses reported that the two children were playing by the pond when they accidentally fell into the water. Hours later, locals discovered their bodies floating in the pond. After recovering them from the water, locals immediately transported the children to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared them dead.
Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Morshedul Alam Chowdhury confirmed the incident, stating that a police team promptly visited the site after being informed. The bodies were subsequently handed over to the families.
