Gopalganj: Two brothers were killed when a passenger bus hit their motorbike in the Dumdia area of Sadar upazila here last night. The deceased were Ruhul Amin Khan, 65, and Dulal Amin Khan, 57, sons of Abul Kashem Khan of Khagail village in Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 10.30 pm when a Dhaka-bound bus collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The collision resulted in the immediate death of the bike rider, Dulal, while his brother, Ruhul Amin, sustained critical injuries.
Maksudur Rahman Murad, Officer-in-Charge of Bhatiapara Highway Police Station, reported that Ruhul Amin was rushed to Gopalganj General Hospital. However, the on-duty doctor declared him dead upon arrival.
The bodies of the two brothers have been handed over to their families.
