Dhaka: Two books authored by former Bangladeshi diplomats-"Serendipity in Diplomacy, Between Protocol and Politics", a memoir by Ambassador Mahmud Hasan, and "In Search of a Role Model" by Ambassador M. Fazlul Karim-were launched in Dhaka on Saturday. The event took place at the Foreign Service Academy and was organized by the Association of Former Ambassadors of Bangladesh (AOFA).
According to United News of Bangladesh, the programme saw Ambassador Farooq Sobhan, a former foreign secretary and ambassador, attend as the chief guest. Ambassador Golam Mohammad, Secretary General of AOFA, delivered the opening remarks, setting the stage for a meaningful discussion about the books. The sessions on both books were moderated by AOFA President Ambassador Abdullah Al-Hasan, who facilitated engaging conversations about the themes and insights offered by the authors.
The event highlighted the rich experiences and reflections of the diplomats, offering readers a glimpse into the intricacies of diplomacy and the search for exemplary figures in the field. The books, each distinct in its focus, contribute to the understanding of diplomatic protocols and the personal journeys of those who have served Bangladesh on the international stage.
