Two Bikers Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Gournadi Upazila

Dhaka: Two motorcycle riders were killed and another was critically injured in separate road accidents in Gournadi upazila of Barishal on Friday.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Arafat Rahman Babu, 32, lost his life and his pillion rider, Asadul Islam, 31, sustained critical injuries when a bus collided with their motorcycle in front of Sharmin Clinic in South Bijoypur at approximately 10:30 am. Babu, a father of two, resided in Ashokathi village and was the foster son of retired teacher Md Hanif Akon, who currently resides in Mahilara. Asadul also hails from Ashokathi village. After the accident, locals promptly rescued the victims and transported them to a nearby upazila health complex, where medical practitioners declared Babu deceased. Asadul was later transferred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital due to his critical condition.

In a separate incident, Mehedi Hasan Turag, 32, was fatally injured in the Kataksthal area around 2:30 am. Turag was the son of the late Abdul Gani Howlader from the Rajkar area under Rahmatpur union of Babuganj upazila. Tarikul Islam, a friend of Turag, stated that they were part of a group of four friends traveling from Dhaka to their hometown in Babuganj on two motorcycles. As they approached Kataksthal, Turag lost control of his motorcycle, resulting in a collision with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction, which caused the accident.
