Dhaka: Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested two active members of a criminal group along with a significant amount of counterfeit currency and cash during a raid in the capital’s Wari area. The arrested individuals have been identified as Nurul Haque, aged 32, and Saidul Amin, aged 24.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the duo was apprehended in the Juriyatuli area under Wari police station at approximately 11:50 pm on Saturday, as per a police press release issued today. During the operation, authorities confiscated fake notes amounting to TK 6 lakh, genuine currency worth TK 19.70 lakh, a money counting machine, two stapling machines, and two packets of stapler pins.
A regular case has been filed against the suspects under the Special Powers Act at Wari police station in connection with this incident. DB officials confirmed that Nurul Haque and Saidul Amin had been involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit notes in the market for an extended period.
