Rajshahi: The Detective Branch (DB) of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has solved a cash robbery case involving money belonging to a dairy farm in the Belpukur Police Station area of Rajshahi city. Two suspects, including the alleged mastermind, have been arrested. Police also recovered Taka 33,000 of the stolen money, a pistol-like object used in the robbery, and two mobile phones.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals are Md. Abdur Rahman Dabloo, 36, son of the late Salauddin of Sapura village under Boalia Police Station, and Abu Sadat Md. Sayem alias Milon, 48, son of the late Hasan from the Mirzapur area under Motihar Police Station.

At a press briefing held at the city DB office, RMP spokesperson and Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Gaziur Rahman detailed the events that unfolded on April 14. Md. Masud Rana, an employee of Pabna Dairy Farm, had arrived at the Sapura Sales Center in Rajshahi from Pabna carrying 2,000 liters of chilled liquid milk. After unloading the milk, the center manager handed him Taka 165,600 to deposit at the company’s head office. He placed the money behind the driver’s seat of the truck and began his return journey to Pabna.

At around 2:30 p.m., when the truck reached North Kazirpara in the Belpukur Police Station area, a group of robbers on an unregistered blue motorcycle blocked its path by creating a barricade. The criminals then smashed the truck’s window, threatened the driver with a sharp weapon, and forcibly took the Taka 165,600 from inside the vehicle before fleeing.

Following the incident, a case was filed with Belpukur Police Station, and a special DB team launched an investigation. Using information technology and intelligence reports, investigators identified those involved in the robbery. A special operation led to the arrest of the alleged mastermind, Abdur Rahman Dabloo, and direct participant Abu Sadat Md. Sayem alias Milon.

According to the DB, Taka 26,000 of the stolen money was recovered from Dabloo, while a pistol-like object used during the robbery and Taka 7,000 were recovered from Sayem alias Milon. The total amount of recovered cash stands at Taka 33,000. Police also seized two mobile phones used by the suspects. The two accused are currently in DB custody, and efforts are continuing to recover the remaining stolen money.
