Turkiye reiterates commitment to support Bangladesh’s reform initiatives

Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen today

reiterated his country’s commitment to support Bangladesh’s Interim

Government in its reform initiatives.

He made the remark when he called on foreign secretary Md Jashim Uddin at the

foreign ministry here, a foreign ministry’s press release said.

During the meeting the envoy handed over a letter from the Deputy Foreign

Minister of Turkiye Dr Nuh Yilmaz addressed to Jashim, congratulating him on

his appointment as Foreign Secretary.

The ambassador recalled the recent telephone conversation between the Turkish

President and Bangladesh’s and Chief Adviser and reinforced Turkish

government’s commitment to extend cooperation to the Bangladesh’s interim

government.

The two sides discussed about Turkish government’s probable assistance for

the medical treatment of the students and participants who were injured

during the Anti-Discrimination Movement.

The Foreign Secretary and the Turkish Ambassador expressed satisfaction over

the current progress of
bilateral engagements between the two friendly

countries and emphasized on enhancing volume of bilateral trade.

Turkish Ambassador apprised Foreign Secretary of the activities of a Turkish

delegation who delivered humanitarian assistance for the flood affected

people in Bangladesh.

The Foreign Secretary expressed appreciation for Turkiye’s humanitarian

gesture for the flood victims of Bangladesh.
