Narayanganj: Meghna Group, a prominent private industrial conglomerate, has commenced a truck sale of edible oil in Narayanganj at a special discounted price. This initiative aims to assist consumers in obtaining the essential commodity amidst a scarcity of bottled edible oil in the market.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative was launched in response to a call from Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) to provide essential commodities at reduced prices during the holy month of Ramadan. Narayanganj DC Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mian inaugurated the program in front of his office earlier today.

The inauguration was attended by Police Superintendent Prottus Kumar Majumdar, Additional DC (General) Mohammad Alomgir Hossain, Ansar Commandant Kanij Farjana Shanta, and Meghna Group General Manager Sarker Farhad Ahamed. During the event, Jahidul Islam highlighted that, in addition to edible oil, other essential goods such as aromatic rice, pulses, and sugar are also being sold at discounted prices through the truck sale.

The press release indicates that approximately two tonnes of edible oil will be sold daily through the truck sale, with the program set to continue for the duration of Ramadan.
