Truck Collision Claims Lives of Two Women in Rangpur

Rangpur: Two women lost their lives and another individual sustained injuries when a truck collided with a motorbike in the Purba Khaleya Rathari area of Gangachara upazila in Rangpur district on Friday night. The tragic incident occurred around 10:30 pm when a sand-laden truck from Nilphamari struck the motorbike that was carrying three passengers.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased have been identified as Radha Rani Sarkar, 40, and Anjana Rani Sarkar, 50. Radha Rani Sarkar was the wife of Dulal Sarkar, while Anjana Rani Sarkar was married to Dijendra Nath Sarkar. Both women hailed from Sadar upazila in the neighboring Nilphamari district.

Abdus Sabur, the Officer-in-Charge of Gangachara Model Police Station, reported that the impact of the collision was fatal for the two women, who died at the scene. The third person on the motorbike, Ajit Chandra Sarkar, was injured and promptly transported to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Law enforcement officials have been unable to apprehend the truck driver and his assistant, as they fled immediately following the incident. The victims' bodies were returned to their families after the necessary legal procedures were completed, as confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge.
