Dhaka: A court here today issued a travel ban on former NBR chairman Md Nojibur Rahman, his wife Nazma Rahman, and their sons, Fuad NA Rahman and Farabi NA Rahman, due to allegations of graft.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order after considering a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The ACC petition highlighted the need for a thorough investigation into the allegations against Md Nojibur Rahman, which include acquiring assets worth crores of taka through bribery, corruption, and transfer business.
The petition emphasized the importance of ensuring that the four accused remain in the country throughout the investigation to maintain the integrity and fairness of the process. Consequently, the court has prohibited them from traveling abroad until the completion of the investigation.
