Barishal: A training programme titled 'Supportive Laws for Conducting Cases, Techniques of Writing SF (Statement of Facts), and Responsibilities' was held today with the participation of officials from various departments and agencies under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana virtually inaugurated the training programme as the chief guest. The event took place in the conference room of the city's Circuit House. In her address, the chief guest emphasized that the fundamental objective of law is to maintain peace and order in society. She stressed the importance of understanding the law to discern which demands are legitimate.
The chief guest further elaborated on the importance of legal knowledge for responsible individuals, stating that it enables them to make appropriate decisions in any situation. She highlighted that legal expertise not only aids individuals or institutions in making correct decisions but also helps avoid mistakes and disorder, contributing to societal stability.
The Information and Broadcasting Secretary underscored the necessity of legal knowledge for everyone and urged the abandonment of the tendency to avoid addressing legal issues. She warned that neglecting lawsuits involving government institutions could harm the reputation of both the institution and the government. She also noted that laws are time-sensitive, and the failure to present the correct legal provisions at the right time can lead to complications. Understanding the law, she remarked, is essential for personal interest, institutional needs, and enhancing the government's reputation.
Barishal Deputy Commissioner Md. Khairul Alam Sumon chaired the programme, which was attended by officials from various departments of the Barishal division.
