Khulna: Three members of a family were killed and another was injured when a truck rammed into a motorbike at Domra in Digholia upazila of Khulna district on Friday night. The victims were identified as Farzana Khatun, aged 26, her two-year-old daughter Maimuna, and Rubia Khatun, 16, who was the sister-in-law of Shihab Sheikh, the injured survivor.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Shuvro Prakash, Officer-in-Charge of Digholia Police Station, reported that the accident took place around 11:30 pm. A Rupsha-bound truck from Gazirhat collided with the motorbike carrying the family of four, resulting in the immediate deaths of three individuals and injuries to Shihab Sheikh. Following the accident, Shihab was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The tragic incident highlights the perils on the roads in the region, prompting discussions about road safety measures. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash to prevent future occurrences. The community mourns the loss of the family members and extends support to the bereaved and injured.
