Sonamasjid: Trade activities through Sonamasjid land port will remain suspended for 10 days from March 18 to March 27 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Ruhul Amin, secretary of the C and F Agents Association of Sonamasjid land port, confirmed that while trade operations will pause, passenger travel with valid passports will proceed as usual.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the temporary suspension will affect the regular flow of goods and commerce through this critical land port. However, existing goods at the port will continue to be loaded and unloaded during the holiday period, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Ruhul Amin also stated that India's Mahadipur land port customs and related associations have been officially informed about this temporary halt in trade. This advance notification aims to ensure smooth resumption of activities post-holiday, with trade operations scheduled to restart on the morning of March 28.
