Rajshahi: People in Rajshahi are celebrating a joyful Eid festival amid pleasant weather. Amusement spots, particularly on the banks of the river Padma, have been bustling with visitors of all ages for the past two days.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, thousands of people, especially children, have been drawn to the city’s parks, historic places, and other recreational centers to enjoy and celebrate the festival. Locations such as Central Park and Zoo, Zia Shishu Park, Varendra Research Museum, BGB Amusement Point, Vadra Park, Padma Garden, and Borokuthi amusement point have all seen significant crowds.
The Central Park and Zoo, the largest amusement spot in the Rajshahi metropolis, has undergone substantial development and beautification over the years. This includes the addition of more animals to the zoo, the construction of a colorful boundary wall, the widening of walkways and sitting arrangements, the concreting of the lake embankment, and the renovation of picnic corners. Two 29-meter long and three-meter wide curved bridges were also constructed at a cost of Taka 1.36 crore, enhancing the park’s appeal. Every section of the park-cum-zoo has been rearranged to attract more visitors.
The banks of the Padma River, adjacent to the Saheb Bazar area of the city, have also become a popular tourist and recreational spot. Visitor Rafiqul Islam expressed his satisfaction with the park’s atmosphere, noting the absence of panic and anxiety.
