Tourist Vehicle Accident Claims Two Lives in Thanchi

Thanchi:Two tourists lost their lives and five others sustained injuries when a tourist vehicle, known locally as a "Chander Gari," veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Thanchi upazila this afternoon.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place at approximately 3:45 pm on the Dimpahar-Tendumukh road, roughly 600 meters from the Tendumukh Naval Checkpost. The vehicle was en route from Dimpahar to Tendumukh Naval Ghat when it lost steering control due to a malfunction, leading to the tragic fall.

Upon learning about the incident, members of the Tendumukh BGB Camp promptly arrived at the scene to conduct a rescue operation. They recovered the bodies of the deceased and rescued the five injured tourists, who were then transported to Alikadam Upazila Health Complex for medical attention.

The Thanchi Police Station was notified by the BGB, whose personnel also played an active role in the rescue efforts, as mentioned in a press release from the Bolipara Battalion (38 BGB) Commander Lt Col Md Yasir Arafat Hossain.
