Sylhet: A tourist named Abu Sufian went missing while taking a bath in the river at Jaflong, located in the Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet District, raising concerns among local authorities and visitors.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abu Sufian, a 26-year-old computer mechanic from Shingpur village in Golapganj Upazila, disappeared yesterday amid the river’s strong currents. His absence was reported by his friend, Russel Ahmed, who was present during the incident. Russel recounted that despite several attempts to locate Sufian, they were unable to find him after he was swept away.

Police and a diving team have launched a rescue operation led by Officer-in-charge Md. Tariqul Islam of Gowainghat Thana. The authorities are working diligently to recover Sufian, as efforts continue to trace his whereabouts in the challenging river conditions.
