Dhaka: A total eclipse of the Moon is set to occur on September 7, 2025, offering a spectacular celestial event visible across Bangladesh, provided the skies remain clear, as stated in an ISPR release today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the eclipse will begin with the moon entering penumbra at 9:27 pm Bangladesh Time and reaching totality at 11:30 pm on September 7. The event will conclude as the moon exits the penumbra at 2:56 am on September 8.
The release further detailed the timings for different regions, noting that the sighting will commence at 9:27 pm in the Dhaka division and Mymensingh. In Chattogram, the eclipse will start at 9:20 pm, while in Sylhet, it will be visible from 9:21 pm. Residents of Khulna can expect the sighting to begin at 9:29 pm, Barishal at 9:26 pm, Rajshahi at 9:34 pm, and Rangpur division at 9:33 pm.
