Banani:A 14-month-old girl tragically died after falling from a second-floor staircase at the Sattola slum in Banani on Sunday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the child, identified as Khadija Akter, was the daughter of Dulal Hossain, a cleaner. The incident occurred while Khadija's mother was occupied with household chores, leading to the accidental fall.
After the fall, Khadija was initially taken to a local hospital in critical condition. As her health worsened, she was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the afternoon, where she was pronounced dead by the attending doctors.
Dulal Hossain, who originates from Shariakandi upazila of Bogura, currently resides in the Sattola slum in Banani. The body is currently kept at the DMCH morgue, and the local police station has been notified, as stated by Inspector Md Habibur Rahman, the in-charge of the DMCH police camp.
