Jhenaidah: A one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl, Sadia Khatun, tragically drowned after falling into a water-filled bucket at Kirtinagar Shelter Project in Sarutia union under Shailkupa upazila today. Sadia was the daughter of Sohag Ali Akand, a resident of the area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police sources reported that Sadia was playing near a tube well in the yard of their house around 11 am when she accidentally fell into the bucket. Despite immediate efforts to save her, she was rushed to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician declared her dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Shailkupa Police Station, Masum Khan, confirmed the incident, underscoring the tragic loss experienced by the family and the community.
