Shibchar: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Haji Mollakandi village of Kutubpur union under Shibchar upazila. The tragic incident occurred today, leading to the untimely death of the child.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Anash, the son of Ripon Hawlader from the village. The boy was playing in the yard of his house around noon. Shortly after, his family began searching for him when he was not found in the usual areas.
At approximately 2:30 pm, the family discovered Anash floating in the pond situated in front of their house. They promptly rescued him and rushed him to the Shibchar Upazila Health Complex. However, the on-duty doctor at the health facility declared him dead upon arrival.
Rakibul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar Police Station, confirmed the incident, providing further details on the unfortunate event that has left the community in mourning.
