Dhaka: Despite not securing a victory in the Champions Trophy, Bangladesh managed to earn a notable sum from their participation in the tournament. Bangladesh concluded the tournament in sixth place, securing a total prize of US$ 4.75 lakh, which is approximately Tk. 5.76 crores.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, each participating team was guaranteed a base amount of US$ 1.25 lakh. Bangladesh increased their earnings by an additional US$ 3.50 lakh due to England’s performance, as England lost all three of their matches, finishing at the bottom of the eight-team tournament. Bangladesh’s sixth-place finish was confirmed following England’s seven-wicket defeat to South Africa.

In the tournament, Bangladesh faced defeats against India and New Zealand. Their match against Pakistan was abandoned without any play due to weather conditions, resulting in both teams earning one point each. However, Bangladesh secured the sixth position over Pakistan based on a superior net run rate. Notably, Bangladesh had a
commendable run in the previous Champions Trophy in England in 2017, where they advanced to the semifinals.
