Narsingdi: Three youths were killed in a road accident in the Bandar Dia petrol pump area on the Itakhola-Shibpur regional road in Shibpur upazila last night. The victims were identified as Saiful Islam, 22, Ashiq, 22, and Apu, 20, all from Mirzakanadi village under the Mashimpur union of Shibpur upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a bus collided with the motorcycle the youths were riding. They were returning home after purchasing sports equipment when the tragic incident took place.
Members of the Shibpur Fire Service were on the scene to rescue the victims and transported them to the upazila health complex. Saiful and Ashiq were declared dead by the duty doctors upon arrival, and Apu succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, as reported by the police.
No arrests have been made in connection with the accident, as confirmed by authorities at 13.00 pm today.
