Sunamganj: A mobile court fined three sweet factories Tk 25,000 in the district today. District Additional Commissioner Sakibur Rahman led the operation as members of the Bazaar Monitoring Committee were present. The two-hour long operation began at 2:00 pm.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bazaar Monitoring Committee fined ‘Desh Bondhu Sweets’ and ‘Uttom Jaljog’ Tk 10,000 each for making sweets in unsanitary conditions. Additionally, insects were found in the sweets produced by these factories.
‘Nandodulal Sweets’ was fined Tk 5,000 for the same offense, highlighting the ongoing issues with hygiene standards in the local sweet production industry.
