Three Motorcyclists Killed in Bagerhat Highway Collision

Bagerhat:Three motorcyclists lost their lives, and six others were injured in a three-way collision on the Signboard-Bogi regional highway in the Morrelganj upazila.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the accident involved two motorcycles and a three-wheeler human hauler, known locally as a 'Nosimon.' The deceased were identified as Limon Molla, 24, from the Kalikabari area; Md. Amin Khan, 23; and Soheb, 16, both from Dona village. Limon and Soheb were students, while Amin Khan was a grocer.

Md. Shahidullah, Officer-in-Charge of Morrelganj Police Station, reported that the collision occurred when a coconut-laden Nosimon heading toward Bagerhat collided with a speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Two riders died instantly, while the third succumbed to injuries en route to the health complex.

Subsequently, a second motorcycle crashed into the overturned Nosimon and the first motorcycle, injuring six more individuals.

Dr. Md. Sifat Khan, Acting Morrelganj Upazila Health Officer, stated that nine people were brought to the health complex, with three declared dead on arrival. Two of the injured were referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital, while four were discharged after receiving primary treatment.

Police have seized both motorcycles and the Nosimon, although the driver of the three-wheeler fled the scene. Legal procedures are underway to hand over the bodies to their families, as confirmed by OC Shahidullah.
