Three More Remanded Over New Guinea Properties Attack

Dhaka:A court has placed three additional suspects on a three-day remand each regarding the attack, vandalism, and looting at the New Guinea Properties housing project in the ECB Chattar area of the capital.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the individuals remanded are Mijanur Rahman, Shah Alam, and Shahriar Mahmud. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Monirul Islam issued the order after police presented the trio in court, requesting a five-day remand for each.

Previously, on September 30, another court in Dhaka had remanded three other suspects for three days each in connection with the same case. The attack occurred on the night of September 26, when approximately 50 individuals allegedly targeted the New Guinea Properties Housing Project in South Manikdi, near ECB Chattar, resulting in vandalism and looting. The 'Brownfish' studio of YouTuber Salman Muqtadir, situated within the project, was also among the locations attacked.

Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, a director at New Guinea Properties, lodged a complaint with Cantonment Police Station following the incident.
