Sirajganj: Three people were killed and ten others were injured in a road accident on the Hatikumrul-Dhaka highway in front of the Nalka Gas Office in Raiganj upazila of the district today. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jamuna Bridge West Police Station Md. Amirul Islam confirmed the incident, which occurred around 11 am when a Mymensingh-bound passenger bus of ‘Bushra Paribahan’ from Rangpur crashed into a road divider and the base of an overpass in the Nalka area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, two people died on the spot while eleven injured were rescued and taken to Shaheed M. Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital, where another succumbed to injuries. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
