Sirajganj: Three passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and two others critically wounded as a bus hit the auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in the Solonga area under Ullapara upazila of the district around 7:00 pm today. The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aslam Ali of Solonga Police Station stated that the CNG-run auto-rickshaw was heading toward Sirajganj town from Solonga with passengers on board. As it reached the area in front of the RAB-12 headquarters at Charia, a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus coming from the opposite direction collided with it, resulting in three fatalities at the scene.
The OC further explained that the injured were rescued and sent to the hospital. Efforts are currently underway to identify the victims, both deceased and injured.
