Kishoreganj: Three people, including a minor girl, were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a covered van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Katiadi upazila of the district this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Rabeya, 50, Milan Mia, 35, and Zara Moni, 5, all hailed from Habiganj district. The accident occurred at noon in the Tevaga area on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj highway when a covered van collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw. The collision resulted in the immediate death of auto-rickshaw passenger Milan Mia and left five others injured.
The injured were transported to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Rabeya and Zara Moni dead. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katiadi Model Police Station Md Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident. Police have recovered the bodies and sent them to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital morgue for further procedures.
