Three Key BPL Matches Scheduled Across Bangladesh

Dhaka: Three matches of the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football are set to take place tomorrow at various venues across the country. The matches are a part of the ongoing season, showcasing fierce competition among the top football clubs.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the matches will witness league leaders Mohammedan Sporting Club facing off against Fortis Football Club at the Bashundhara Kings arena practice ground. Concurrently, Bashundhara Kings will challenge Brothers Union Club at the Birshreshtha Flight Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj. In another exciting fixture, Dhaka Wanderers Club will compete against Chittagong Abahani Limited at the Mymensingh district Stadium. All the matches are scheduled to kick off at 4 pm.

After thirteen rounds of matches, Mohammedan Sporting Club leads the league table with 34 points from 13 matches. In contrast, Fortis Football Club is positioned seventh with 18 points from the same number of games. Bashundhara Kings, the defending
champions, hold third place with 24 points, while Brothers Union Club is in fifth with 19 points. Both clubs have played 13 matches.

The league also features Dhaka Wanderers Club, currently in ninth position with seven points, vying to avoid relegation. Chittagong Abahani Limited, ranked at the bottom with three points, is similarly struggling to escape relegation.

In the first leg of matches, Mohammedan narrowly defeated Fortis Football Club at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla. Bashundhara Kings and Brothers Union Club ended in a 1-1 draw at the Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital, and Dhaka Wanderers Club secured a win over Chittagong Abahani Limited with a solitary goal at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur.

Meanwhile, the league’s fourteenth round continues the following day, with Abahani Limited, Dhaka meeting Bangladesh Police Football Club at the Mymensingh district Stadium. Additionally, Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society will play against Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club at Birshres
