Jashore: Three persons including a father and daughter of a family were killed and two others injured in a road accident on the Jashore-Benapole highway in Jikorgacha upazila of the district this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Hasan Iqbal, 45, from Bamnali village under Jikargacha upazila, his daughter Ratna Khatun, 11, and Nazma Khatun, 50, wife of Meher Ali from Gadkhali area of the district.
Inspector of Navaran Highway police outpost, Jashore, Rokonuzzaman, stated that the accident occurred around 7:30 am when a van collided head-on with an ambulance, resulting in the immediate death of three people at the scene. The two injured were transported to Jikargacha health complex for medical attention.
