District police in a drive today held three people with 100 kilograms (KGs) of ganja (cannabis) from Chirirbandar upazila area of the district.
Police Super Shah Iftekhar Ahmed disclosed the news at a press briefing this afternoon. He said, acting on information, police seized a dump truck at Ghugratoli Bazar. After searching the truck, policemen found the quantity of ganja. The three people were held at that time.
The detainees were identified as Rezaul Karim, 45, hailed from Sadar upazila, Mostakim, 31, inhabitant of Sadar upazila and Mominur Rahman, 30, a resident in Rangpur district. They were accused of various cases in various police station in different districts.
A case was filed with Chiribandar Thana in this connection.
