Three Die After Consuming Excessive Liquor in Mymensingh

Mymensingh: Three persons, who reportedly drank excessive liquor last night, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital and Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex this morning. The deceased were Sumon Mia, 35, son of Abdur Rashid, and Abdul Jalil, 42, son of Rafiqul Islam, residents of Tumpara Mudipara village under Charalgi union in Gafargaon upazila, and Nizam Uddin, 38, hailed from Brahmanbaria district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, two of the individuals succumbed to their conditions at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, while the third person died at Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex this morning. In addition to the fatalities, another man named Masud is currently undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.



The tragic incident unfolded after dinner when the four friends consumed local alcohol at a house in the village. Shortly after, all of them began to feel unwell, said Officer-in-Charge of Gafargaon police station Muhammad Shibirul Islam. The police are likely to investigate the circumstances surrounding the consumption of the liquor and its effects on the individuals involved.
