Dhaka: Three dengue patients died and 492 have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period, 154 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 51 in Chattogram, and 69 in Dhaka division. In the capital, 36 were admitted to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and 53 to Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). Additionally, 54 cases were reported in Khulna, 10 in Mymensingh, one in Sylhet, three in Rangpur, and 61 in Rajshahi division, as per a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of dengue cases in the country has risen to 12,763, with 48 deaths reported this year due to the mosquito-borne disease. In the last 24 hours alone, 411 patients have been discharged from various hospitals.
Last year, the dengue outbreak saw a total of 101,214 cases and 575 fatalities, the statement added.
