Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus announced a three-day state mourning period following the death of three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Along with the mourning period, a general holiday has been declared for tomorrow, coinciding with her Namaz-e-Janaza.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Adviser addressed the nation via a televised broadcast on Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar at noon. He urged citizens to maintain order and discipline during the Janaza and the mourning period. Professor Yunus expressed his hope for national patience and cooperation in observing the formalities associated with the funeral rites.
