Jamalpur: A three-day traditional boat race began today on the Brahmaputra River in Islampur upazila of the district. BNP Chairperson’s Adviser ASM Abdul Halim inaugurated the boat race at Kadamtala Gayenpara village this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Gayenpara Youth Society organized the competition with the participation of seven boats: Rocket, Janani, Pankha, Chal-Modina, Jamuna, Duronto, and Desher Doa. Locals enjoyed the event with great enthusiasm.
