Jashore: The officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in a drive today detained three persons from the local BRTA office for their alleged involvement in monetary negotiation with the service seekers. Later, ACC officials, through a mobile court, fined two people and awarded jail to another.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, ACC Assistant Director (AD) Md Al Amin stated that innocent people have often been harassed by brokers at the local BRTA office. Today’s drive was prompted following an instruction from the ACC headquarters.
The AD reported that they detained three alleged brokers-Kamal Hossain, Aminur Kabir, and Tarek Maruf-from the BRTA office. Subsequently, Executive Magistrate Sumaiya Jahan fined Kamal Hossain and Aminur Kabir Tk 1,000 each, and Tarek Maruf was fined Tk 1,000 and sentenced to one-day jail.
