Three Arrested with 44 kg of Hemp in Cumilla

Cumilla: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate operations arrested three individuals and seized 44 kg of hemp and 50 bottles of Eskuf syrup from Cumilla Adarsh Sadar upazila this morning. The arrested individuals are identified as Md. Arif, 28, from Sharifpur village in Adarsha Sadar upazila, Md. Iman Hossain, 59, from Pathuria village, and Md. Roni, 28, from Lalpur village in Feni Sadar upazila.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team from RAB-11 conducted an operation in the Jagannathpur area of the upazila at 8 am, leading to the arrest of the three individuals. The team also confiscated 35 kg of marijuana and a private car. Major Sadman Ibne Alam, Company Commander of RAB-11, Cumilla, stated that the operation was part of RAB-11’s ongoing anti-drug efforts.



In a separate operation, the RAB team seized 50 bottles of Eskuf syrup and nine and a half kg of marijuana from the Noagaon area of Cumilla Sadar Dakshin upazila. Major Sadman Ibne Alam emphasized that legal action has been initiated against the arrested individuals. He reiterated that RAB-11 will persist in its efforts to combat drug-related activities in the future.
