Dhaka: The government has promoted three additional secretaries to the rank of secretary in a recent move aimed at reshuffling key positions within several ministries.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, three separate notifications were issued to formalize these promotions. Md Ataur Rahman Khan, who served as an additional secretary in the home affairs ministry, has been elevated to the rank of secretary and assigned to the commerce ministry. Farah Shammi, previously the divisional commissioner (additional secretary) of the Mymensingh division, has been promoted to the position of secretary in the coordination and reforms department of the cabinet division.
Additionally, Nasir-ud-Doula, who held the position of additional secretary in the agriculture ministry, has been promoted to secretary and appointed as the chairman of the trade and tariff commission. The government has also reallocated Kazi Anwar Hossain, who was the secretary of the information and communication division, to the ministry of public administration.
The issued orders, meant to serve the public interest, are effective immediately, as stated in the notifications.
