Theatre Direction Week Inaugurated at RU in Memory of Ustad Rabiul Hossain

Dhaka: Theatre Direction Week, organized by the Department of Theatre of Rajshahi University (RU) in memory of Ustad Rabiul Hossain, has begun. The event was inaugurated on Saturday afternoon at the Syed Ismail Hossain Siraji Building by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Abdul Alim.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the inauguration was attended by the acting chairman of the department, Dr. Kaushik Sarkar, along with Professor Shahriar Hossain, Professor Mir Mehboob Alam, Dr. Abdus Salam, and other concerned teachers and students. This week, three plays are being staged as part of the event: Badal Sircar's 'Hottomalar Opare' directed by Sami M. Sajid, Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible' translated by Tahmina Ahmed and directed by Meftahun Nahar Phul, and Albert Camus's 'Mistake' directed by Sadak Rahman.

The Theatre Direction Week has been organized as part of the postgraduate direction group course of the Department of Theatre.
